We are an internationally focused, research-intensive university. The university conducts research, artistic development work and teaching within a wide range of subject areas. UiB has 7 faculties and 40 institutes.
There are 4,222 FTEs at UiB, of which 53 per cent are women and 47 per cent men. In autumn 2022, there were 19,846 students at the University of Bergen.
