Dr. Hadija Hamisi Semvua (Ph.D.) is a senior lecturer and principal pharmacist at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo). She is also a member of the pharmacology department and works both in teaching and research activities. Dr. Hadija is a current head of a clinical trial unit at the Research Institute - Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI). She has worked extensively in many clinical trials as a coordinator and pharmacist of records. She has gained enough knowledge of therapeutics and drug management in many workshops and training attended. She has done different courses on antimicrobial resistance, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacovigilance.
Innocent B. Mboya (Ph.D.) is a Senior Technical Advisor and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Africa Academy for Public Health, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He finished his postdoctoral researcher position in register-based epidemiology at the Department of Translational Medicine, Lund University, Malmö, Sweden. He is also a Lecturer at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College, Institute of Public Health, Moshi, Tanzania. Innocent has accumulated over ten years of combined experience as a researcher, project coordinator, and trainer. His experience ranges from public health, epidemiology and applied biostatistics, data quality assurance, monitoring vaccine uptake and coverage (e.g., COVID-19 and childhood vaccines in Tanzania), maternal and child health (investigating predictors of adverse pregnancy outcomes), nutritional status of mothers and children, non-communicable diseases (e.g., surveys on HPV screening for cervical cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and mental health screening), monitoring HIV infection in key populations, sexual and reproductive health, and healthcare provider workload. He is experienced in coordinating and conducting community-based surveys, community engagement, and project monitoring and evaluation at local and national levels. With a background in epidemiology and applied biostatistics, he possesses diverse data management and analysis skills using Stata, SPSS, and R software. He has authored several scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and abstracts presented at national and international conferences, demonstrating his track record in scientific writing.
Manisha Shah is a development economist whose primary research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of applied microeconomics, health, and development. She originally received her Ph.D. from UC Berkeley. She has written several papers on the economics of sex markets in order to learn how more effective policies and programs can be deployed to slow the spread of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections. She also works in the area of child health and education. Shah has been the PI on various impact evaluations and randomized controlled trials and is currently leading projects in Tanzania, Indonesia, and India. She has also worked extensively in Ecuador and Mexico. Her research has been supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the World Bank, and the National Science Foundation, among others. She is an editor at Journal of Health Economics and an Associate Editor at The Review of Economics and Statistics.
